As you know, there are internal communication dynamics highly recommended to strengthen the bond between managers and employees, but sometimes it can be we lack time to study how they work and put them into practice in our own company. For this reason, we have looked for and selected two communication dynamics that are simple to implement and very useful for reinforcing the professional commitment The ultimate goal? To ensure that our employees are happy with their professional life to produce more and better.
The first of the dynamics Internal communication that we have selected has one overriding objective: that get to know them better to each of the people who are part of your team.
And that's because personal knowledge is the foundation on which good internal communication within a company is based for a very simple reason: if you don't know your people personally, you can't find out if they're happy or unhappy with their position, their duties, their skills, their direct manager, their colleagues...
Meeting someone opens the doors to dialogue, to that two-way communication which is absolutely necessary to create a positive and productive working environment.
That being said, let's see what this first internal communication dynamic, which we've named “getting to know each other,” consists of.
We divided the group into a maximum of 8 persons and we place them in a circle. Each person must say their first and last name and find two qualities that characterise them and that start with the same initial letters. The first person introduces themselves and states their qualities. The second person does the same, but also recalls the first name, surname and qualities of the person who has just introduced themselves, the third person does the same with their own identity and qualities and, additionally, the first names, surnames and qualities of the two people who have introduced themselves before... And so on until the circle of companions has been submitted correctly.
For example:
Ana Pérez. Friendly and perfectionist.
Cristina Martínez. Charismatic and a “handywoman”.
Felipe García. Festive and funny.
It is important that we remind the group that anyone can participate helping colleagues who don't remember a name or a quality. The atmosphere should be competitive, pleasant and, above all, fun.
At any human group there are conflicts and opposing viewpoints. This is how it is and we cannot change it, but when conflicts become part of a company's daily life and are not managed and resolved, we can end up having a big problem between hands.
Thus, it is necessary that we find a good communication dynamic that helps us resolving professional conflicts In its earliest phase, group dynamics like the one we tell you about below.
We need to meet in a classroom or similar space with a whiteboard for note-taking. One person will volunteer to facilitate the group, present the problem to be solved, and note down the behaviours, phrases, or actions that triggered the conflict. Any participant can share their impressions about the incident that sparked the discussion, clarify a comment made by another colleague, and so on.
Once we have broken down the conflict by writing down the central ideas on the whiteboard, we will move on to note down possible solutions to the conflict trying to find a fair, reasoned solution that is accepted by the group.
For example:
Alicia and José are arguing because they both need to use the company car at the same time. The problem crops up day in, day out, so the team leader brings the conflict to a debate.
Alicia, José and the rest of the colleagues discuss the problem while the facilitator notes down the different viewpoints: priority of use based on Alicia's seniority in the company, José's need to have the car always available for his sales work, etc.
Once the problem has been outlined, possible solutions are noted: try to acquire another company vehicle, distribute vehicle use with mornings for Alicia and afternoons for José, acquire a Transport Ticket so that one of them can use it when the car isn't available, etc.
This is one of the most effective internal communication dynamics that exist, provided that a positive working environment and not thinned out over years and years of grudges and unresolved problems.
