What is Ticket Restaurant?

Ticket Restaurant is the restaurant card designed to make employees' daily lives in Spain easier, helping them pay for their work meals more comfortably and with tax advantages. It can be used as a means of payment in restaurants, bars, cafés, and delivery platforms, for both in-person consumption and home delivery services.

The amount allocated to the meal voucher is exempt from personal income tax up to 11 € per working day, according to Article 45 of the IRPF (Personal Income Tax) Regulations. For the employee, it represents a direct and tangible saving on each meal: the amount is deducted from their gross salary before applying the IRPF, meaning they pay less tax and increase their purchasing power. For the company, it is a benefit that is offered without increasing wage costs.

Companies incorporate Ticket Restaurant through Edenred Flex as part of its programmes for Flexible Compensation or Social Benefits – or combining both modalities in a Hybrid Model. Edenred handles everything: issuing digital cards, automatic management of tax allowances, and integration with the payroll system.

Yes, but here we need to distinguish between two situations:

  • A Self-employed with employees Yes, you can offer Ticket Restaurant to your employees on the same terms as any other company.
