Teamwork at work is a fundamental element when it comes to achieving a good working environment, which has a positive impact on both the workers themselves and the company. In this article we tell you some of the keys to its development.

What is partnership and why is it important in the workplace?

Partnership is the bond that is established between colleagues. However, beyond these bonds, companionship is often referred to when the links are based on a good match between the parties involved, which translates into a state of harmony and positivity

A company with a strong sense of partnership at work will have a number of important strategic advantages:

  • Increased work motivation
  • Reduction of stress and absenteeism
  • Increased team cohesion and human capital
  • Contributes to the personal and professional satisfaction of the employees.
  • Develops more decisive teams and staff
  • Increases employee productivity

It is therefore essential that every company, large or small, undertakes concrete initiatives to help foster camaraderie in the workplace.

How to develop camaraderie at work

Some concrete actions that help to develop greater camaraderie at work include the following:

1. Assigning a mentor to newcomers

One of the most difficult moments in any company is when you have just joined. To solve this, the best initiative that can be taken is for the company itself to assign a mentor to the new employee. The mentor will be the reference person who will be responsible for introducing the new worker to the way of working and the corporate culture. It will guide you through the process of starting the new job and, just as importantly, through the process of establishing first contact with new colleagues.

2. Team Building

Also referred to as “team building”, it is a term used to designate the set of activities aimed at improving interpersonal relations at work. These activities can be promoted by the company itself, but they should also be promoted by the employees themselves. Something as simple as meeting after work for a few beers with colleagues is also team building.

3. Strengthening interpersonal communication

One of the keys to fostering camaraderie at work (and in almost any area of life) is to have the necessary tools to know how to express oneself correctly and communicate effectively what one wants to say. In this sense, the company should carry out workshops and courses aimed at teaching employees how to develop these kinds of skills is another of the most recommendable initiatives when it comes to improving camaraderie in the workplace.

4. Encourage spaces for communication

One of the ways to develop camaraderie at work is for employees to have the time and environment to communicate. Having a cafeteria, or a small kitchen in the office, can help to create this kind of environments that are not strictly linked to the work activity. Another option is to provide them with meals in restaurants or with a delivery service thanks to Ticket Restaurant. In this way, lunch will become a moment of relaxation in the working day that will encourage employees to establish common spaces beyond the strictly professional activity.

5. Facilitating the reconciliation of work and family life

In addition to all the above-mentioned initiatives, it should be borne in mind that if a worker is unable to reconcile work and family life properly, it is difficult for him/her to be able to spending quality time with their colleagues beyond strictly working hours. For this reason, some social benefits aimed at facilitating the work-life balance, such as the Childcare Ticket, are also essential elements that help the development of camaraderie in the workplace.
