Productivity techniques: “I Need-I Want-I Want”.”

“I-need-I-must-want” is one of the most important most fashionable productivity techniques on the Internet and which is producing the best results from the point of view of the work motivation.   • I need“ tasks: there are tasks that must be carried out every day and that cannot be forgotten, these are the ones priority or urgent tasks that we cannot fail to do at a particular time. It could be attending a meeting, finishing a report or making a phone call. These “I need to do” tasks should be completed as soon as possible, and if it is first thing in the morning, all the better.
  • Must-do“ tasks: there are tasks that are not a priority or urgent, but which must be done in order to making a profit in the medium and long term. Just like “I need” tasks, “I must” productivity tasks need to be part of our weekly agenda (and resolved, of course).
  • I want to“ tasks: write down one satisfactory task per day, a prize by doing those tasks that are less pleasant, but necessary. This task could be going for a coffee with colleagues after work, taking a walk on the way home or having a nice ice cream for dessert after lunch. Anything that brightens our day and serves as an incentive to fulfil our work obligations.

Productivity techniques: “anti-ToDo”.”

One of the strangest new productivity techniques we've come across on the Internet goes by the curious name of “...".“anti-ToDo”(from the English verb To Do)

It consists of writing down in the daily agenda not the long list of tasks to be solved, but the tasks, projects and milestones that we have to accomplish. that we are solving The aim of this technique is that the workload does not overwhelm us.

This curious technique of “anti-ToDo” was devised by the co-founder of Netscape, the computer engineer Marc Andreessen, a savvy inventor, blogger and successful entrepreneur.

Productivity techniques: the traffic light

The third of the preferred productivity techniques by Internet users is a reinvented classic: the technique of the traffic light. It is very simple and also very useful when it comes to preparing our daily agenda:

  • Mark urgent tasks in red, The EU's priority and can in no way wait until tomorrow.
  • Orange marking important tasks that should be solved as soon as possible, even if they are not extremely urgent, those jobs that can be done in a couple of days.
  • Marked in green the tasks that need to be done slowly but surely.
