What is the Edenred Mobility ticket for companies?

The Edenred transport ticket, also called Edenred Mobility, it is a card that companies give to their professionals to pay for the public transport (transport pass, underground, bus, commuter train, etc.) conveniently and with tax advantages. It works like a virtual payment card, linked to each person, which is periodically topped up with the amount decided by the professional or company and is used exclusively for travel expenses.

For the company, it is a formula 100% deductible in Corporate Tax; for the professional, up to €136 a month remains exempt from tax matters. In practice, this translates to savings of up to 30% in daily transport expenses, without entailing a significant extra cost for the company.

Edenred Mobility can be offered in three ways: as Social Benefit (the company provides it as an extra on top of the salary), as part of a plan for Flexible Compensation (the professional allocates part of their own gross salary, with tax savings for both parties) or via a Hybrid Model that combines both options.

How can your company adapt to the new Sustainable Mobility to Work Act?

This law requires companies with more than 200 employees, or 100 employees per shift, to implement Sustainable Mobility Plans in a 12-month period. Frequently asked questions about the corporate transport ticket

What is the Edenred Mobility transport ticket?

The Edenred Movilidad transport ticket is a service from Edenred Spain that enables companies to offer their professionals a solution to cover public transport expenses, promoting sustainable mobility and generating tax savings, whether as a Social Benefit or as part of a Flexible Remuneration plan.

With the transport ticket the professional will benefit from a maximum amount of €136.36 per month (€1,500 per year), taking into account the following limits:

  • In the regional territories of Álava, Biscay and Gipuzkoa, the tax advantages of the transport ticket are not applicable.
  • In any case, The amount received as Flexible Remuneration may not exceed 30% of the annual salary of the professional.

For the company, the amount allocated to Edenred Movilidad is deductible expenditure 100% in Corporation Tax, just like the rest of staff costs. Furthermore, as they are not subject to income tax up to the limit of €136.36/month, the company can offer a benefit with a perceived value far exceeding its real cost, without generating extra social security contribution costs on that part of the salary when structured as Flexible Remuneration.

  • Like Social Benefit, the company provides the transport voucher as an extra added to the already established salary, at no cost to the employee.
  • Like Flexible Compensation, it is the professional themselves who allocates a part of their gross salary to this benefit, which allows them to pay less income tax on that part of the salary.
  • Both modalities can be combined into a Hybrid Model.

Yes. By functioning as a Mastercard, Edenred Movilidad can be used to buy tickets and season passes online on any transport website or app that accepts this payment method (Renfe, Cercanías, municipal transport apps, etc.), as well as at ticket vending machines and physical points of sale. The company only has to request as many cards as it needs.
