What do we know about flexible remuneration?

Although 53.3% of professionals have heard of this concept, only 5.2% actually understand how it works or how much they could save by applying it. This lack of understanding not only limits opportunities for personal savings, but also makes it difficult for companies to implement it effectively.

Taking the average annual salary in Spain as a reference, which in 2022 was €26,948.87 according to INE data, a person could save up to €1,322.46 per year by using flexible remuneration for services such as Ticket Restaurant, Edenred Guardería or Edenred Mobility. This tool allows you to allocate up to 30% of your gross annual salary to tax-free products, tailored to the needs of each individual.

Priorities according to professional profiles

Our study also indicates that preferences for using this solution vary according to salary level and career stage. Young people earning less than €25,000 tend to prioritise mobility and language training, while those who exceed this figure prefer to invest in dining out and discounts on digital platforms. As work experience progresses, interests diversify: those earning less than €25,000 remain focused on mobility, while higher salaries are allocated to health insurance or pension plans.

Furthermore, awareness of flexible remuneration appears to be directly linked to salary. 90% of those earning over €53,000 are aware of this solution and its benefits, whilst among those earning between €18,001 and €25,000, the figure drops to 37%. This data highlights the need for greater awareness and training on the subject to make access to it and its benefits more widespread.

  • With flexible remuneration, your income tax rate drops to 11.06% (%), giving you a take-home pay of 17,432.37.
  • Total savings: £988.94 per year, with an increase in purchasing power of 6,01 %, without affecting their social security contribution base.

Case 2: Raúl, aged 36, with two children under 3 years old, and a gross annual salary of €30,000

  • Allocate €3,630 to Ticket Restaurant, €660 for mobility and €4,400 for nursery.

  • With flexible remuneration, your income tax rate drops to 5.91% (%), giving you a take-home pay of £20,050.03.
  • Total savings: £2,267.74 a year, with an increase in purchasing power of 12,75 %, without affecting their social security contribution base.
