Working, for most people, is the way to earn an income that allows them to maintain a certain way of life.
From this point of view, it is not necessary to work with passion, it is necessary to be competent, capable, responsible, efficient and to provide a service that someone is willing to pay for. That said, I think it is wise to seek personal satisfaction in what we do, as passion is one of the best antidotes to adversity.

On the other hand, when I work with passion, I perform better than when I do it out of obligation, because passion comes from me and encourages me to give my best, while obligation is a demand that moves me to give just enough.

Why do we lose passion at work?

To work with passion, many people need to feel that:

- They have control over their work.
- They are good at what they do and they are getting better and better.
- Their work serves a purpose.

Consequently, these people lose their passion at work when instead of being asked to take responsibility for their work, control is exercised over their actions; when they are asked to do things they are not good at, or are not good at, and, above all, when they feel that what they do is of no use.

Too often bosses and, in general, the control paradigm in which many organisations operate, are mainly responsible for people's loss of passion.

If we want to stay in the job but with a different attitude, What practical exercises can be given to regain motivation?

Maintaining a positive attitude is the responsibility of each one of us. Sometimes we cannot change what happens to us, but we can always decide the attitude with which we want to face events.

I don't believe in magic recipes, because what works for one person may be useless for another. If you want to regain your enthusiasm for your work, I encourage you to find your own answers and, to accompany you in your search, I offer you this process, which I hope you will find useful.

How to regain the passion for work

1. You can start by become aware of what is going on. To do this, you can ask yourself  How do you feel in your daily life, what aspects of your work demotivate you, what do you like about your work, what prevents you from working with passion, what is in your power to change, what are beliefs and what are facts, what are beliefs and what are facts?

2. Continued by seek alternatives. To do this, you can ask yourself What options do you have, how else, how could it be better, what would you have to change?

3. Make your own decisions. To do this, you can ask yourself  What are you going to do, when do you want to do it, how are you going to do it?
