Entering the INE website can be to find out for sure about the CNAE. What it is, what process it results from and what is its purpose? are some of the information provided on the website of the National Statistics Institute. and which we review in the following lines.
The purpose of the CNAE is to it serves a statistical purpose. Its mission is to simplify and categorise the different economic activities that can be carried out in our country. This way, by establishing hierarchies, it is easier to effectively achieve two important goals:
a) Proceed with classification by homogeneous units, based on the economic activity in question, of entities and statistical groups.
b) Implement more comfortably different statistics that need to be distinguishable based on the type of activity to which they should be applied.
Few people know what CNAE, which stands for National Classification of Economic Activities, means.. This is an enumeration, a complete list that was updated in 2007 as a result of an international review process.
The compilation of this list has been carried out in accordance with the requirements of the NACE Rev.2 Approval Regulation.
This Regulation updates the provisions of the CNAE-93 Rev.1 published some years earlier and power some aspects that are currently relevant, such as technology or the environment, also taking into account the progressively more consolidated presence of the service sector.
So, In the new NACE, more groups are noticeable within the category corresponding to services. and it is observed that some categories lose relevance for statistical purposes, as is the case with fishing and agriculture, which now appear united, instead of having their own entity with respect to the codes.
The National Statistics Institute has predicted that doubts may arise regarding the codes, and therefore has created Ayudacod, an app that functions as a search engine and allows you to easily find those corresponding to each activity.
Those interested in learning more about the correspondence between the standard approving the 2009 CNAE, its complete structure or its correspondence with the CNAE of 2003, the explanatory document which was issued to collect all codes in a 278-page compendium or the review that is offered to them most important details, they can access all that information through the INE website.
Finally, all that is left to say is that, In no case should the meaning of CNAE or what it is be confused with the definition of IAE (Economic Activities Tax), a very common but necessary error to resolve., since, fortunately, a code has nothing to do with a tax.
