5 questions you should ask your employees to improve their performance

questions to employees to improve work

Table of contents

Improving your company's results is possible if you implement a continuous feedback system. Ask employees for their concerns and proposals, and you will be able to improve their performance. How to do it? We tell you

Improving employee performance through continuous and effective communication is possible. To begin with, try to eliminate the fear that employees often have of expressing their problems, ideas, doubts...

These are the 5 questions that will give you the keys to improve workers' performance:

1. «What have you learned this month?»

We always learn something in our jobs, but often we are not aware of what.

This question forces the employee to to carry out an exercise in self-knowledge and realise their small achievements which will motivate them to continue with their work. In addition, they will learn how they have done it and why it has been effective.

Their learnings can be yours too.

2. «What would you do differently?»

Employees are aware of certain flaws in procedures or execution of work that those in charge are not able to see.

Think of the TV programme “The Undercover Boss”. The employees they “trick” in their infiltration almost always give them very specific details of issues that could be improved in the company. Ask them and take their proposals seriously.

3. «What can I do differently?»

In the same way that we ask for improvements in the workers, they have the right to propose improvements to those responsible for the project or company.

Let us take his words to heart and let's make our working environment a better place where we are all comfortable with each other's work.

4. «What can we do to improve your work»?»

We must guide employees in improving their work.

By knowing what your target is, we will be able to offer you the best possible necessary tools to help them become better professionals. As well as increasing their commitment, this will have a direct effect on the company: better employees lead to better results.

What project would you work on if you had the opportunity?«

Being attached to a project that we are really passionate about is the best way to feel motivated at work.

Ask employees about their preferences and try, as far as possible, to place them in projects that motivate them the most. They will come to work with a good attitude that will benefit the development and results of the project.

Remember that a feedback continuous is the best way for all of us, as a team, to improve our performance.
