Because of the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/en\/blog\/estadisticas-motivacion-laboral\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> direct relationship between work motivation and performance<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in their workplace, <\/span><b>workforce happiness has become one of the strategic issues in the business sector. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, in order to address this factor, it is useful to know what work motivation is, how it is defined, what types exist and what are the most suitable techniques for its development.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-motivacion-laboral-varias-definiciones-segun-diversos-autores\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work motivation: various definitions according to different authors<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When talking about work motivation, depending on the experts consulted, different definitions can be found, mainly depending on where the focus is placed in each case. Some of the best known are the following:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this regard, William P. Sexton, in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organisational Theories<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, refers to motivation as \u201c<\/span><b>the process of stimulating an individual<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to perform an action that satisfies some of their needs and achieves some desired goal for the motivator\u201d.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For her part, Anita Woolfolk, author of<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.es\/Psicolog%C3%ADa-Educativa-Anita-Woolfolk\/dp\/6074425035\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Educational psychology<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, understands it as \u201c<\/span><b>an internal state that prompts, directs and maintains behaviour\u201d.\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Woolfolk's definition would be very much in line with the one proposed by James A. F. Stoner in his book<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/es.scribd.com\/doc\/101197495\/ADMINISTRACION-Stoner-Freeman-Gilbert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Administration<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in which motivation is referred to as a <\/span><b>\u201cwhat makes people tick\u201d.\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-importancia-de-la-motivacion-laboral\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Importance of work motivation<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In any case, regardless of the meaning that best suits each case, it is clear that work motivation is a<\/span><b> key factor in making workers more productive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and acquire a <\/span><b>greater commitment to the company<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It is therefore an element that all companies should take into account when establishing a relationship with their employees and that should guide the company's approach to its employees. <\/span><b>actions identified for their promotion and development<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tipos-de-motivacion\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Types of motivation<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As is the case when it comes to definitions of work motivation, there is a wide diversity in establishing typologies of work motivation.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the best known and most widely used in the business world is that developed by the psychologists Edward L. Deci and Richard M. Ryan.
