{"id":30493,"date":"2022-11-28T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-28T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/blog\/?p=30493"},"modified":"2025-02-05T15:00:29","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T14:00:29","slug":"beneficios-sociales-nueva-generacion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/en\/blog\/beneficios-sociales-nueva-generacion\/","title":{"rendered":"From restaurant tickets to Netflix subscriptions: this is how young people want to make flexible use of their paychecks."},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>57% of employees say they would like to receive leisure-related offers from their employer. <\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Rising oil prices have had an impact on social benefits and petrol station agreements are now the fourth most demanded product by Spaniards.<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The leisure sector is making a strong entry into the field of social benefits. 57% of Spanish employees say they would like to receive such offers from their company, according to the report. <em>\u201cTrends in flexible compensation 2022\u201d,<\/em> elaborated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/en\/\">Edenred<\/a> on the occasion of the launch of Talent Trends, an initiative of the social benefits company to measure the impact of the well-being and care of Spanish employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Workers continue to demand classic social benefits. Food allowances <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/en\/ticket-restaurant\/\">Ticket Restaurant<\/a> are the absolute dominator, with 67% of respondents considering it crucial to make flexible use of their salary with catering. This is followed by mobility aids, including public transport (65%) and insurance (61%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, new benefits are emerging that are of great interest to a majority of Spanish employees, who are increasingly demanding discounts on entertainment platforms such as Netflix or Spotify, as well as on clothing, technology or shows. Thus, leisure ranks fourth in the ranking of workers' priorities, especially among young people, second only to classic social benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"739\" height=\"372\" src=\"https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/image.png\" alt=\"social-benefits-priorities-table\" class=\"wp-image-30494\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/image.png 739w, https:\/\/www.edenred.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/image-300x151.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 739px) 100vw, 739px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-nuevos-players-aplicaciones-de-series-o-musica\">New players: series or music applications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Precisely, the commitment to series or music applications is particularly significant among younger workers. Within the prioritisation of areas by employee segment, one out of every two workers under 25 years of age consider it fundamental, a figure that rises to 66% among those over 25, but is still considered to be the most important. <em>early workers<\/em>. Despite workers' demand, the vast majority (82%) of companies do not offer such discounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSpaniards want to make flexible use of their salary and, especially younger workers, are demanding greater personalisation of social benefits. Entertainment and leisure platforms and language learning are becoming increasingly important, which leads us to think that, in addition to offering assistance for meals and transport, which are still the most popular, organisations need to provide other more innovative products to reach employees,\u201d says Manuel Asla, Marketing and Product Director at Edenred Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-subida-de-la-gasolina-impacta-en-los-beneficios-sociales\">Gasoline hike impacts on social benefits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of the products that employees expect to receive, health insurance (33%), Edenred's Ticket Transporte (the aid for the purchase of public transport tickets (32%)) and job-related training (23%) stand out. However, the rise in the price of oil has made its presence felt, with agreements with petrol stations (22%) in fourth place, just behind in third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By salary bracket, one in three employees earning between 18,000 and 25,000 euros per annum opt for fuel assistance. By age bracket, young people under 25 years of age are the ones who stand out in this demand, which reaches 40%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the latest report \u201cWorkplace expectations of employees and companies 2022\u201d prepared by Edenred and BTS, work-life balance is playing an increasingly important role in the demands of workers, as they consider it important that social benefits favour these measures. Young people are particularly active in these demands, as their priorities include subsidies for the gym (30%), psychological consultations (19%) or access to streaming platforms (11%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-el-80-de-los-menores-de-25-anos-demanda-aprender-idiomas\">80% of under 25s demand to learn languages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, younger employees are committed to language learning. Although only 19% of employees consider this training among their priorities, 80% of employees under 25 years of age demand social benefits related to the knowledge of other languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPaying for Netflix, discounts to buy clothes or gym membership are some of the social benefits that many young people are demanding from Spanish companies.
